政府于本年度已证实有三宗日本脑炎在本港不同区域发生，并称登革热病毒有机会在香港爆发，令社会各届非常关注蚊患的问题。新昌营造是一间重责任的总承筑商，主动召集全体员工和工友，齐心协力对抗传播日本脑炎及登革热病毒的传播媒体--蚊子。

于本年7月初，在辖下各建筑地盘已高悬起"灭蚊子的横额"实行教育宣传其建筑队伍，同时推出"大型灭蚊日运动"。在灭蚊日运动当天，由各个工程项目经理委任一名高级职员为灭蚊大使，并组织专责小组，全力消除地盘蚊患，和教育各人关于灭蚊的措施。经个多月覆查数据，均显示成效理想，尤其工友已认识到齐心协力除积水，杜绝蚊患保健康的理念，各人逐渐开始全情投入，务实整治地盘积水和提升工地卫生。

This year, the Government has confirmed three cases of Japanese Encephalitis in various areas of Hong Kong and there is a high likelihood that dengue fever will also reappear. As a responsible contractor, Hsin Chong is assisting in eradication efforts by ensuring that all construction sites are active in eliminating mosquitoes, which carry and spread these diseases.

In July, every Hsin Chong construction site erected an "Eliminate Mosquitoes" banner to increase staff awareness of this problem. Additionally, a day was designated for the launch of an Anti-Mosquito Campaign. On that day, each project manager nominated a senior staff member as an Anti-mosquito Ambassador who will establish a task force to tackle the problem on site and be responsible for educating all site personnel on measures to eliminate mosquitoes. Workers are now more conscious of the need to remove stagnant water to prevent mosquitoes breeding on site and realize that their efforts are contributing to reducing this problem in Hong Kong.
